Delivery Driver

The Delivery Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable and customer-focused delivery services by operating a Code 10 / Code C1 vehicle to transport goods accurately, efficiently and on time. The role ensures that deliveries and collections are executed safely, legally and cost-effectively while maintaining excellent service standards and representing the homechoice brand professionally in the field.

What You Will Love Doing In This Role Delivery Operations

• Safely operate a Code 10 / Code C1 vehicle in accordance with road traffic legislation and company procedures
• Prepare vehicles for daily operations by assisting with loading activities and ensuring goods are correctly secured before transport
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including tyres, lights, brakes, fluids and load security requirements
• Plan and complete delivery routes efficiently to ensure accurate and timely customer deliveries
• Maintain regular communication with the Distribution Supervisor regarding delivery progress, delays, route deviations, incidents and customer feedback
• Ensure compliance with vehicle load limits, fuel usage requirements and all company safety standards
• Maintain a safe driving record and adhere to company policies and procedures at all times
• Support warehouse operations and perform ad hoc duties when required

Administration and Compliance

• Verify the accuracy of delivery documentation and loaded goods before dispatch
• Complete daily vehicle checklists, logbooks, gate registers, key registers and fleet reporting documentation
• Obtain proof of delivery and accurately document deliveries, collections and customer receipts
• Maintain all documentation relating to vehicle inspections, maintenance, driving records and compliance requirements
• Ensure all delivery activities align with company quality, safety and security standards

Communication and Customer Service

• Maintain ongoing communication with the business while completing delivery routes
• Escalate delivery discrepancies, incidents and customer concerns to the Distribution Supervisor
• Deliver professional and courteous customer service during every customer interaction
• Resolve customer delivery queries in line with company procedures
• Promote customer satisfaction through reliable service and professional conduct
• Share relevant product and service information with customers where appropriate

What You’ll Need To Do This Role

• Minimum Grade 11 (Standard 9)
• Valid Code 10 / Code C1 Driver's Licence
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
• Minimum 2 years' driving experience in a delivery, distribution or logistics environment
• Minimum 1 year's warehouse experience or similar operational environment
• Working knowledge of Road Traffic Act regulations and safe driving practices
• Ability to read maps and accurately plan delivery routes
• Clear criminal record
• Willing and able to work weekends and overtime as required
• Willing to undergo random drug screening
