Business Unit Director

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Hold full responsibility for your business unit/s, governing resourcing, capacity and investment across a substantial multi-account, multi-team portfolio
• Manage senior client relationships across the group, ensuring portfolio health, retention and growth
• Lead problem resolution and manage escalations at senior level, championing the client internally while protecting agency interests
• Ensure the unit delivers a high-volume retail programme reliably and to standard, with disciplined briefing, workflow and quality control at scale
• Safeguard accuracy, brand CI consistency and regulatory compliance across all output
• Take accountability for sound financial governance across accounts, including retainer management, cost estimates, billing and job profitability
• Lead and develop Group Account Directors and senior talent, building a high-performing, accountable leadership team
• Give strategic insights and direction into the categories you are responsible for
• Able to work under pressure and step in when the team needs hands on assistance
• Contribute to agency strategy as part of the senior leadership team, and represent 99c at the most senior external levels

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• 15+ years in agency client service or account management, with significant leadership tenure
• Proven ownership of a substantial portfolio or business unit, ideally spanning multiple accounts and teams
• A track record of growth and senior client partnership in retail or high-volume environments
• Strong retail sector understanding, with the operational judgement to lead a demanding, deadline-driven promotional programme
• Highly organised, with exceptional attention to detail and a calm, dependable manner under constant deadline pressure
• Financial Services and Liquor industry experience would be advantageous.
