Main Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for securing new business opportunities aligned with the organisation’s preferred client profile and achieving the GP targets set out in the sales contracts.
Job Related Requirements
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 5 year sales experience in freight forwarding, supply chain or logistics environment, with a good understanding of Air, Ocean and Road transportation, Forwarding and Customs Clearance.
- Proven track record in new business sales
- Valid Driving Licence and Own Vehicle
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Excell, CoPilot Powerpoint , Word and Outlook
- Understanding of Microsoft Dynamics CRM system advantageous
- MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook – Intermediate Level
Electives Sales Capability and Commercial Drive
- Ability to build, manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Strong hunter mentality, with a driven and ambitious approach to new business development.
- Solution-driven mindset with a strong ability to identify and resolve customer challenges.
Communication and Relationship Management
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage confidently with senior management.
- Ability to conduct clear and professional presentations when required.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers, operations teams and internal stakeholders.
Professionalism and Teamwork
- Well-groomed, professionally presented and able to represent the organisation appropriately.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Accountable, reliable and able to take ownership of responsibilities and outcomes.
Planning and Administration
- Strong coordination, organisational and administrative skills.
Duties & Responsibilities Sales Pipeline and Business Development
- Manage and develop a sustainable sales pipeline.
- Identify, onboard and implement new business opportunities effectively.
CRM, Planning and Activity Management
- Manage all opportunities, accounts and productivity within Dynamics, the prescribed CRM system.
- Maintain an effective diary to support consistent customer engagement and sales activity.
Customer Relationships and Consultative Selling
- Build strategic relationships at multiple levels within the client base.
- Apply a consultative selling approach to strengthen DSV’s supply chain position with customers.
Targets and Performance Management
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Meet weekly and monthly call targets.
