Blockman / Butchery Blockman — Casa de Coelho

Casa de Coelho is looking for an experienced and reliable Blockman to join our team.
Key responsibilities
- Cutting, trimming and preparing various cuts of beef, pork and other meats
- Deboning and portioning meat according to customer requirements
- Preparing steaks, chops, roasts, mince and other butcher products
- Preparing and producing wors/sausages, burgers and other value-added products
- Ensuring all meat is handled, stored and displayed according to food-safety standards
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the butchery and equipment
- Operating butcher equipment safely and correctly
- Assisting customers with product and cut selections when required
- Maintaining consistent product quality and presentation
- Monitoring stock and minimising wastage
- Assisting with general butchery duties when required
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Blockman is essential
- Strong knowledge of meat cuts and preparation
- Experience with deboning, portioning and trimming
- Experience making wors/sausages and burgers would be an advantage
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety
- Able to work efficiently in a busy retail butchery
- Reliable, punctual and well presented
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Must be able to work weekends and public holidays when required
- Must reside in Edenvale or surrounding areas
