Lesaffre South Africa is a leading manufacturer of baking ingredients, serving customers across the country. With a strong focus on quality, innovation, and customer service, we are seeking to expand our team of Baking Demonstrators to support our Baking Centre operations.
Job Description
As a Baking Demonstrator, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, conducting product demonstrations, and offering technical support to our customers. This role plays a critical part in promoting our company's products and solutions, enhancing the customer experience, and contributing to the overall success of our Baking Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement and Product Demonstrations:
- Conduct engaging and informative product demonstrations for customers, showcasing the features, benefits, and proper usage of our baking ingredients and equipment.
- Provide hands-on training and guidance to customers on baking techniques, recipe development, and the effective utilization of our products.
- Gather customer feedback, including product preferences, pain points, and suggestions, and communicate this information to the Baking Centre Manager and Sales team.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers, addressing any questions or issues they may have with our products or solutions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of our product portfolio, including their specifications, applications, and performance characteristics.
- Collaborate with the Innovation and Quality team to stay informed of product updates, new developments, and industry trends.
Baking Centre Operations and Maintenance:
- Ensure the baking center is well-organized, clean, and equipped with the necessary tools, ingredients, and equipment to support effective product demonstrations.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the baking center's facilities, equipment, and supplies to maintain a professional and welcoming environment.
- Coordinate with the Baking Centre Manager to schedule and manage customer visits, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay informed of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in baking and product demonstration techniques.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to the Baking Centre Manager on ways to enhance the customer experience and the overall value proposition of the baking center.
- Collaborate with the Product Development and Innovation teams to explore new product ideas and solutions that can be showcased at the baking center.
Qualifications
- Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Baking Science, Food Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a baking, product demonstration, or technical support role, preferably in the food manufacturing or consumer goods industry
- Extensive knowledge of baking processes, ingredients, and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and provide exceptional customer service
- Strong problem-solving and customer service orientation to address customer needs and concerns
- Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing customer requirements and market conditions
- Commitment to continuous learning and the development of innovative baking solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Baking Science, Food Technology, or a related field

- Reporting directly to the National Field Manager
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with travel to meet with customers, partners, or attend industry events
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
