Job description
Qualifications & Experience
- Trade tested Auto Electrician (Section 13 or 26D)
- Grade 12
- Trackless Equipment (LHD, UV & Bolter) maintenance experience within the mining environment
- Strong DC auto electrical knowledge & experience on trackless machines
- Strong hydraulic knowledge is required, theoretical & hands-on
- Strong fault finding (diagnostic) skills in diesel engines, hydraulics, transmission drive trains, auto electrical & AC electrical in order to maintain GHH Trackless Mining Machines
- Be familiar and able to do safety meetings, risk assessments, and planned task observations
- Be familiar with Mine Health & Safety Act
- Maintenance systems experience is essential
- Audit experience in equipment condition and safety
- Valid Driver's License.
- Good Client relations and skills
- Knowledge of a Quality System ISO 9001 or similar
- Competent B will be preferred (Certificates to be included in CV)
Responsibilities (include but not limited):
- Do planned maintenance & help with breakdown maintenance on GHH Mining Machines in a manner that promotes reliability with total cost saving to the Client for both on surface and underground
- OEM mechanical & electrical work
- Arrange / request all spares required in a pro-active manner
- Inspection and sign-off on the machines
- Attend and contribute to all required safety talks & actions
- Follow & adhere to all mine rules & procedures
- Participate in the management of change process & implementation
- Be willing and able to work shifts as required
- Report to Lead Artisan (Charge-Hand) end of shift
