Job description
This role offers full ownership of the Audio portfolio, where you’ll drive category growth, expand margins, and position products strategically across highly competitive retail channels.
What We’re Looking For
We are specifically seeking candidates with chain store experience in consumable electronics (ESSENTIAL) — particularly exposure to retailers such as HiFi Corp, Makro, or Pick n Pay.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in Category Management (retail or consumer electronics)
- Strong analytical ability with forecasting and trend interpretation skills
- Demonstrated success in sales growth and revenue generation
- Experience in contract negotiation and procurement
- Strong commercial acumen with P&L ownership
- Exposure to professional audio or entertainment/production industry (advantageous)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills

Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Growth
- Define and execute category growth strategies
- Identify new product opportunities within the audio portfolio
- Develop private label and exclusive product strategies
- Position products competitively within national retail chains
- Manage the full product lifecycle
Commercial & Financial Ownership
- Full category P&L accountability
- Drive revenue growth and margin expansion
- Optimise pricing and promotional strategies
- Improve GMROI, stock turn, and working capital efficiency
- Lead inventory planning and demand forecasting
Innovation & Product Development
- Develop new product pipelines aligned with market trends
- Collaborate with manufacturers to create differentiated offerings
- Oversee compliance, costing, and packaging
- Reduce time-to-market for launches
Retail & Supplier Management
- Build strong relationships with key retailers and chain stores
- Lead contract negotiations and trade agreements
- Drive promotional visibility and range expansion
- Manage supplier partnerships and income growth
Performance & Analytics
- Analyse sales data and market trends
- Track KPIs: sales growth, margin, GMROI, stock turn, aged stock
Deliver measurable, customer-focused solutions
Pay: R75 000,00 - R110 000,00 per month
