Job description

About the PositionSA Fire and Medical Academy (SAFMA) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrator with experience in the fire protection industry. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of SANS 1475 requirements, fire-fighting equipment administration, stock control, procurement, and supplier management.Key Responsibilities

  • General office administration and customer service.
  • Processing quotations, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Ordering and tracking fire-fighting equipment and consumables.
  • Managing stock levels and conducting regular stock counts.
  • Maintaining asset and equipment registers.
  • Scheduling equipment servicing and inspections.
  • Ensuring compliance with SANS 1475 standards and requirements.
  • Liaising with suppliers and clients regarding orders and deliveries.
  • Maintaining accurate records and filing systems.
  • Assisting management with reports and administrative tasks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Minimum 2–3 years' administrative experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of SANS 1475 fire equipment requirements.
  • Experience working with fire-fighting equipment.
  • Experience in stock control, inventory management, and procurement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Advantageous

  • Experience in the fire protection, safety, or training industry.
  • Knowledge of fire extinguisher servicing, maintenance, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
