Job description
Job Purpose
The Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Western Cape Government (WCG) has an opportunity for a competent individual to render administrative support services in respect of departmental strategic planning and reporting processes in the Department.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).

Key Performance Areas
Provide personnel administration clerical support services within the component; Render general clerical support services; Provide supply chain clerical support services within the component; Provide financial administration support services in the component.
Competencies
Knowledge of the following: Clerical duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collecting statistics; Understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service; Working procedures in terms of the working environment. Skills needed: Planning and Organising; Writing and Reporting; Working with People; Adhering to Principles and Values; Relating and Networking; Problem Solving and Decision Making; Project Management; Accounting / Finance / Audit; Communication (written and verbal); Budgeting and Financial Management.
Remuneration
R 237 453 – R 279 708 perannum (Salary level 5).
Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Notes
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. All shortlisted candidates shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
