Curro seeks to appoint a Cafeteria Assistant (full-time) at St Dominics in Newcastle to commence duties in September 2026

Key performance areas
Preparation of food and sales
- Prepare and sell food and related products to learners, parents and teachers.
- Assist in the preparation of cooked/warm foods when required.
- Ensure sales are processed correctly and money is handled with care.
- Provide input on product sales to the Cafeteria Supervisor.
- Act as an ambassador when dealing with learners, staff, or the public.
- Assist with special events as needed.
Cleaning, health and safety
- Maintain clean workspaces and equipment.
- Wear appropriate attire when handling food.
- Support the Cafeteria Supervisor with health, safety, and hygiene requirements.
- Adhere to all health and safety standards.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- Minimum requirement: Grade 12 (Matric).
- Advantageous: Formal cooking qualification.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Cafeteria/Tuck Shop Assistant.
- Skills: Food hygiene, health and safety, food preparation, numerical skills, time keeping.
- Behavioural attributes: Patience, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, adaptability, proactivity, observant, security minded, strong work ethic.
