Curro seeks to appoint a Cafeteria Assistant (full-time) at St Dominics in Newcastle to commence duties in September 2026

Key performance areas

Preparation of food and sales

• Prepare and sell food and related products to learners, parents and teachers.
• Assist in the preparation of cooked/warm foods when required.
• Ensure sales are processed correctly and money is handled with care.
• Provide input on product sales to the Cafeteria Supervisor.
• Act as an ambassador when dealing with learners, staff, or the public.
• Assist with special events as needed.

Cleaning, health and safety

• Maintain clean workspaces and equipment.
• Wear appropriate attire when handling food.
• Support the Cafeteria Supervisor with health, safety, and hygiene requirements.
• Adhere to all health and safety standards.

Qualifications, experience and skills

• Minimum requirement: Grade 12 (Matric).
• Advantageous: Formal cooking qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Cafeteria/Tuck Shop Assistant.
• Skills: Food hygiene, health and safety, food preparation, numerical skills, time keeping.
• Behavioural attributes: Patience, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, adaptability, proactivity, observant, security minded, strong work ethic.
